Thanks to many wonderful people and special friends, my birthday today was a very memorable one! But this evening, as I opened cards from friends and relatives from far and near, something a bit “puzzling” emerged. Each card contained several puzzle pieces inside of it! As I read the messages inside of each card and […]

Independence Day Duet
Happy Independence Day! Here is a patriotic duet that Clayton and I played at the Nashville ATI Regional Conference last year. My hope is that it will inspire everyone who listens to apply the promise of II Chronicles 7:14: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek […]
“Fishing” Stories
Recently, I have been really encouraged to hear many exciting reports from young people who participated in Living the Journey’s Challenge II and have been making an extra effort to learn how to be more effective “fishers of men” as they share the Good News of salvation with others. Here are some links to a […]
The Noticer
I just couldn’t make myself put it down! The story was entertaining and fun, yet the underlying principles were profound and powerful. I starting reading it to a group of friends. They laughed. They listened. Then they asked me to read another chapter! To be honest, I don’t have the time to read very much […]
Are You Ready for a Challenge?
Living the Journey is hosting a second challenge! This one goes beyond memorization and involves actually sharing the plan of salvation with someone during the week of May 5-9. Jonathan has already successfully completed memorizing the required verses, quite a while before the April 23rd deadline! Go Jonathan! 🙂 Pray for each person who is […]
A Day with Bev Shea
No other person in history has sung to more people than George Beverly Shea. Known as "America’s Beloved Gospel Singer," his unmistakable rich baritone voice has proclaimed the Gospel message in song to over 200 million people around the globe! In crusade after crusade, his passionate solo would set the tone for Billy Graham’s salvation […]
Waiting by the Tracks
A while back I heard a poignant story from an elderly gentleman who had spent many long winters in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. He said that these events really had taken place and that he had seen them with his own eyes. The story touched my heart and I have not been able to […]
A Thought on the Economy
“You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving . . . . You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.” – Adrian Rodgers
Pull the Plug on Atheism
I just had an enjoyable little visit to Ray Comfort’s new website, www.pulltheplugonatheism.com. It’s definitely worth checking into. I was also quite intrigued to see Ray Comfort’s new book, “You Can Lead an Atheist to Evidence but You Can’t Make Him Think.” If it doesn’t make an atheist think, at least it will make him smile. 🙂
Grave Thoughts on the New Year
I spent some time wandering through a graveyard today. It amazes me how walking through a graveyard can impact a person’s outlook on life. My great great uncle Arthur Bland passed away on Tuesday and today was the funeral. Since he was a veteran of a foreign war, the burial ceremony was recognized with a […]
