Waiting by the Tracks

A while back I heard a poignant story from an elderly gentleman who had spent many long winters in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. He said that these events really had taken place and that he had seen them with his own eyes. The story touched my heart and I have not been able to […]

Pull the Plug on Atheism

I just had an enjoyable little visit to Ray Comfort’s new website, www.pulltheplugonatheism.com. It’s definitely worth checking into. I was also quite intrigued to see Ray Comfort’s new book, “You Can Lead an Atheist to Evidence but You Can’t Make Him Think.” If it doesn’t make an atheist think, at least it will make him smile. 🙂

A Creature that Defies Evolution

A special New Years gift from our good friends the Wilkes was a video called Incredible Creatures that Defy Evolution. It was very exciting to see all of the amazing animals that God so clearly created, especially this beetle with it’s incredible fiery defense system.

A New Year’s Challenge

As I sit here typing away on my laptop, I can overhear my brother Jonathan up in his room. He’s working diligently on memorizing a verse of Scripture—II Timothy 2:2! I’ve been reminded of this […]

Many Things Look Alike

Not many would argue with the fact that it is becoming increasingly difficult to tell the difference between what is artificial and what is genuine. Learning to “tell the difference” is one thing I appreciate about birding–and after being in Taiwan for a year, the opportunity came at last to make a certain identification amongst […]

Chinese and English

Oh no! Another post without … pictures! Did you notice? Just a straight column of text! There are several reasons for that: 1) I wasn’t expecting to post about this subject and thus didn’t take any relevant pictures; 2) A rain storm took the power out at school, affecting the computer I was using to […]

The Confident Skunk

Did you know that skunks are very confident but not very courageous? The night was warm for September. The singing chorus of crickets and dew-covered grass helped to muffle the sound my footsteps. Cautiously, I moved from the shadows of the forest into the moon-lit field, scanning for any signs of occupation. A few minutes […]
