Description

Box includes a collection of 12 greeting cards with 12 white envelopes.

Card size is 4 1/4 in. x 5 1/2 in.

The inside is blank to allow for your own message.

On the back of each card is the story behind the picture:

Design 1: First Morning Light. The first thing I saw when I woke up  in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan was the intricate cloud formations. I knew it was going to be a beautiful sunrise. Except for the mosquitoes, it was a perfect morning.

Design 2: Life in the Desert. The stop at Bryce Canyon National  Park was brief, but I was delighted when this little chipmunk momentarily posed on a gnarled log. This breathtaking overlooks portrays one of many at this park in Utah.

Design 3: Bridge over the Ice. Despite the northern Illinois sub-zero temperatures that evening, I consented to the request of a friend. He wanted me to go on a late-night photography excursion with him. Finding a subject at night was a challenge.

Design 4: Butterfly Brilliance. Colorful flowers complement the brilliance of the lively Swallowtail. They stand in stark contrast to the mood of the location in which this picture was taken: the DMZ between North and South Korea.

Design 5: Autumn Wandering. Though the entire fall season in West Virginia was very rainy, I was determined to capture the changing foliage. I was able to reach this goal by including purposeful foreground elements.

Design 6: The Essence of Christmas. Though not a landscape  image, I felt it perfectly captured the nostalgic and anticipative emotions of December. I simply love the combined elements of piano, Christmas lights, and the falling snow outside.

Design 7: Falls in the Forest. Hiking down the trail to Apple Orchard Falls along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia, the moss-covered rocks caught my attention.

Design 8: Looking Heavenward. Because there are so many “normal” pictures taken of flowers, I enjoy trying to get a different perspective. These  day-lilies in West Virginia were tall enough to let me shoot them while lying flat on my back.

Design 9: A Restful Afternoon. During a visit to Petersborough, Ontario, Canada, I noticed this cozy home while taking a late-afternoon stroll with my family. The lighting was perfect, but it took me several tries to get the perfect  composition.

Design 10: Morning at the Beach. I and a few adventurous family members were up  at 4:00 am to go shelling. It was low tide along the picturesque beaches of Sanibel Island, Florida. Who could have asked for a more perfect place to take a picture.

Design 11: Shadows of Approaching Evening. Starved Rock State Park in Illinois offers canyons, overlooks, and trails as subjects to photograph. This simple composition close to the front entrance was my favorite.

Design 12: Cold of Snow. Barns are very prevalent throughout the hills of West Virginia. When the snow transformed the bleak landscape into a winter wonderland, this particular barn stood out as an excellent subject.
