Another year!

I never thought I would be getting an experience like this one . . .

. . . But just because it wasn’t the way I expected doesn’t mean it was a negative experience. Nothing could be further from the truth! To be on the other side of the world doing mission work in photography and design, is a birthday gift only God could give!

They very kindly wrote the card in English :)The Koreans here made my birthday a very happy one, whether it was by giving a card, a home-baked loaf of bread, an on-the-fly birthday brownie, or singing “Happy Birthday” in Korean, complete with stories and customs about their country.

Thank you everyone for your sacrificial giving and expressions of love. I doubt any other year has ended in such an unexpected, pleasant way!

On a short hiking trip with the Wallers before they left for Mongolia. (Thank you, Adam, for the pics.) A colorful new mouse pad and a very ornate birthday card. Only in South Korea!

Very nice, James! I am glad that you had a good birthday. And we are glad that you were able to join us the next day for our group Skype call!

May you have a blessed year, my friend.
