Precious pictures Don, thanks for posting them! What an amazing heritage we have in America and how much we owe our lives to so many people – like the gunman who downed the kamikaze pilot as it was about to hit the ship Grandpa was on in WW II… and whoever it was who rescued Great Grandpa after his platoon was wiped out by the Japanese in WW I… Memorial Day is such a treasure.

Your post brings tears to my eyes; I’ve never been to the grave site of Grandpa Staddon before. I am proud to be the grandson of a World War II hero!

What an inspiration! Oh may we never take for granted the ones who went before us, sacrificing wealth, health, and even life for the preservation of the freedom to do what is right. They deserve our gratefulness – the gift of time is a gift worth giving.
