Chicago Buried!
On Tuesday we heard that the Chicago area was going to be getting some snow, so we prepared to get up a little earlier to make time for some shoveling. Little did we know that we would wake up to nearly 20 inches of snow and a winter wonderland!
Chicago was hit with the worst storm in over a decade and by far the most extreme blizzard conditions that I had ever witnessed. Gusts of over 50mph, combined with accumulation of up to two inches per hour at times, resulted in hundreds of stranded cars buried in snow, several reported fatalities, and the closing of Chicagoan schools for the first time in 12 years.
Nevertheless, it made for an enjoyable snow-day for the folks at HQ!
Oh my! That is a lot of snow for sure. It sure is beautiful though.
Favorite lines:
“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience – that could take your life.”
“Even shoveling can be a work of art.”
“This could be a problem”
“Well, the snowplow is, um, stuck…”
“Uh, woops, you know, that was on record.”
Excellent job. That was really fun to watch! Makes me wish I was still on the Colonial Shoveling Team! Thanks for sharing.
Hi! We were not able to see your video/pictures; Bsecure blocked us. Can you post it another way we can see it, too? Thank you!
You have great sound, is that with the built in mic?
Great post!!! Wow, you all really show the magic of a snowfall!!! 😀
We really enjoyed seeing your video! Thanks for posting. May the Lord bless you with safety in your travels.
What a fun video to watch! You all know how to have fun and get work done in the snow.
It sure was a winter wonder land!
It was a fun video to put together! Daniel and I made an agreement that if he wrote the text, I would make the movie. So that’s credit to where credit is due!
And no, I just used my little point-and-shoot or the video without a built in mic. I was pretty close to the subject most the time.
