On the Radio!
This afternoon Michael and I joined Ernesto Gomez for his family’s weekly one-hour radio broadcast on WSYW 810 AM in Indianapolis. Joshua and Matthew Wilkes and Nate Paine were also on the air with us as we talked about how to make brothers and sisters our best friends. We shared personal illustrations of what we had learned from our growing up years and various keys to encourage and maintain family harmony. It was a great experience!
What an opportunity! I can’t wait to hear more about how it went. How much time did you have to prepare? How long did you get to speak, and what stories did you share? I probably would have mentioned family night or morning Wisdom Searches.
Wow that is awesome!! What a great subject too!
Praise the Lord for the wonderful opportunity He provided.
Thanks for the comments, everybody! We took turns sharing about things like becoming interested in what your siblings are interested in, understanding love languages, and the importance of honoring parents. The whole radio program was one hour. We spoke for fifteen minute segments with a little music between each one. Ernesto did a great job of translating everything while at the same time running the show!
Will it be available online sometime? That would be awesome!
What an amazing opportunity God gave you to be a blessing to others! =)
Yeah! Good question, Allen. That WOULD be awesome! Let us know, Robert, if there is a place to hear it online.
Our family would be very interested to hear the radio broadcast online as well!
Thank you so much, everyone, for your interest in hearing this broadcast online! Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear to be available anywhere. There are some more pictures and details on the Wilkes blog here: http://www.thewilkesteam.com/2008/11/20/on-the-air-810-am-wysw/
The more I think about it, the more this seems to me to be a great way to reach out as a family to help strengthen and encourage other families. I wonder if any of you might like to try contacting a local station in your area and see if they were open to the idea. Who knows what incredible opportunities might open up!
