A Trip to Cabela’s

All of us in front of Cabela'sThis week we had the opportunity to go to Cabela’s with some friends of ours the Elliotts and Pitcocks. Fist sight in the storeIt was a long drive but defiantly worth it. They had a really colossal mountain in the middle of the building covered in all sorts of animals. They had a lynx chasing a rabbit, mountain sheep jumping a real running stream and waterfall, polar bear standing up, a heard of muskox charging down the mountain and being attacked by timber wolves, and a big herd of elk which were all life size. And lots of other little animals all over the mountain.

Lions and hyenas fighting over zebra! The gigantic Elephant. In another section of prairie and desert there was a huge life size elephant. And they had a leopard jumping into a tree trying to catch a bird that was flying away, and a heard of lions and hyenas fighting. They also had a big crocodile that had a bird in it’s mouth.

We ate lunch there and James, Daniel, David, and I tried roasted buffalo which was really good. Our friend Alex had ostrich.

One of the most fun things we did was trying out the laser gun gallery. For a dollar you got two rounds of shots. There was lots of little targets beside objects and when you hit the targets the objects would move. They had all sorts of funny things happen if you  hit the targets; like if you hit a skunk then a spray of water would shoot at you. Or if you hit a target beside a bush then a big black bear came out of the bush and there were tons of others. The deer jumping over the fenceInside the Whitetail World. Two bears fighting
We also got to go into Whitetail World which was really awesome. There must have been over a hundred prize wining white tail deer jumping over fences or just grazing or running away from predators. On the side of the path there was a fake person that would tell stories if you pushed a button. In the Whitetail World they also had a brown bear and black bear fighting right next to the path; it was scary looking.

Entrence to the aquarium. They also had a hallway and the walls were fish tanks with fish in them. There was one fish that looked big enough to ride :)

How To Fix A Miserable Mustard Mistake

Danger Approaching!Last week we took a trip up to PA to visit our cousins. One night while we were there we had a cookout. I was going through the line and had just put on some mustard on my hot dog when all of a sudden my plate slipped off the counter and all the mustard on my hot dog went flying onto my new white shirt :( It was easy to clean up my hot dog but almost impossible to get it off my shirt.

After the accidentWhen we finally got home I tried spraying Pre-Spot on the mustard stain but it didn’t do very much good. So then I tried Sol-u-mel and it worked a little better. By this time I was getting rather discouraged. It wasn’t coming out! Then Mom remembered that once she got ink out of a blanket with toothpaste! So I decided to try it. I scrubbed the toothpaste on the stain and it worked better then anything we had tried yet. But it didn’t get it all the way out. We then checked on the internet and it suggested using Fantastik so we tried that and it worked really good. After this we threw it in the washing machine when it got out it was exactly how it was when it went in. So I thought that I’ll just have to make it a work shirt. But Mom had one more idea. She hung it out in the sun, and by the end of the day you could hardly tell I ever spilled mustard on it!

After the long cleaning processI’m so thankful for mom encouraging me to keep trying and not to give up. Always have determination even when you miserable mistakes.

Blennerhassett Island

{bip} Enjoying the boat rideLast week our cousins from PA visited us{bip} Cautiously steering the boat and one of our outings was to Blennerhassett Island. To get to the island we took a small boat. It was fun to explore the two decks and climb the spiral staircase! The Island was very beautiful. During a covered wagon ride around the island a deer ran across the path right in front of us and there were lots of squirrels. Our tour guide told us all about the island. One thing she pointed out was the orchard {bip} Relaxing on the wagon ride.of Black walnut trees. If cut, the value of the lumber would be a million dollars! They let the animals have the nuts. After the wagon ride we went on a tour of the Blennerhassett’s mansion that was built in 1798. They lived in it for eight years and then fled the Island because of their involvement with Aaron Burr. In 1811 the mansion was burned to the ground but archeologists found the {bip} Sitting on the Blennerhassett porchfoundation and some scraps that helped them rebuild it how it was. We are very thankful for what we have today after {bip} The mansion diningroomseeing how hard it was to live back then.
